Energy Assistance
Massachusetts Discount Energy Rate

Depending on the size of your family and your combined gross annual income, you may be eligible to receive a discounted rate for your gas and electric service.

You may qualify for the Discount Rate Program if you meet the following criteria:

Basic Eligibility Requirements
  • Household income does not exceed 60% of state median income level
  • Residential customer (primary dwelling only)
  • Head of household or principal wage earner
  • Electric or gas bill is in your name
Currently receiving benefits under one of these programs:
  • TAFDC
  • EAEDC
  • SNAP
  • Mass Health (DMA)
  • Mass Health (Comm. for the Blind)
  • Mass Health (DTA)
  • School Breakfast / Lunch
  • Head Start
  • Home Energy Assistance (Fuel Assistance)
  • Veterans Chapter 115
  • Veterans Non-Service Pension / DIC
  • Supplemental Social Security (SSI)
  • Public / Subsidized Housing
